Bob Thune
Lead Pastor/Elder

After prior stints as a college pastor in Omaha and as a missionary to college students in Austin, Texas, Bob led a small band of people to envision and plant the Coram Deo Church Community in the fall of 2005. His teaching and leadership connect Scripture and culture, making the contours of Christian spirituality accessible to the skeptical, the critical, and the doubtful. Bob is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and Reformed Theological Seminary.

Bob's primary roles within Coram Deo are preaching, vision, strategy, and theological leadership. In his spare time, you can find him on the basketball court, in the coffee shop with a philosophy book in hand, on a date with his wife, or wrestling in the living room with his four kids. He takes great hope in the fact that though he is a great sinner, Christ is a great Savior.

Will Walker
Pastor/Elder

Will is a gifted speaker, writer, and thinker who is passionate about gospel-centered spiritual formation. Before coming to Coram Deo, he spent six years shaping missional communities among college students in the live music capital of the world (aka Austin, Texas). Will pioneered one of the first theologically-driven blogs and is also the primary author of the book The Kingdom of Couches. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and has done graduate study at Dallas Theological Seminary. Will and his wife, Debbie, are the parents of two boys.

Will's primary roles within Coram Deo are teaching, leadership training, and missional community development. To relax, he enjoys reading, writing, hanging out with his kids, and changing his mind about stuff. He is deeply grateful that the gospel does change everything, including him.

JD Senkbile
Elder

In 2005, JD and his wife Michele quit their jobs in a rural Nebraska community to move to Omaha and help launch Coram Deo. JD quickly established himself as a gifted missional leader and eventually worked himself into a job by discipling almost everyone in the church. He is the catalyst behind most of Coram Deo's work among the refugee and homeless populations. He and Michele are both graduates of Trinity University (Chicago). In 2008, JD transitioned out of local ministry in Omaha and into a new role as the Acts 29 Network's catalyst for church planting in southern Africa. He continues to serve as an elder at Coram Deo as he and his family prepare to relocate to Cape Town, South Africa.

To relax, JD enjoys movies, sports, music, and hanging out with his son. He is thankful to God for placing him in a gospel-centered church when he was on the verge of becoming a heretic.

Barb Moseley
Ministry Assistant

Barb grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and earned her bachelor's degree in journalism at the University of Kansas. After working for a non-profit organization, an ad agency, and a small dot-com startup, she brought her freakish administrative and organizational skills to the Coram Deo staff team.

Barb's primary roles within Coram Deo are administration and coordination. She keeps things light around the office with her energetic personality and matter-of-fact humor. Her demeanor can be summed up in this quote from the Moseley Photography website (a company she runs with her husband Nathan): "If Barb is smiling, you know that everything is in order... and if Barb isn't smiling, you know that everything is about to be." In their spare time, she and Nathan enjoy photography, dogs, and the outdoors. They also have a deep love for the community of Coram Deo and long to see the city of Omaha renewed by the power of the Gospel.

Kendal Haug
Pastoral Intern/Deacon

After earning degrees from the University of Texas and from Dallas Theological Seminary, Kendal left behind a good-paying job in Texas to raise his own financial support and join the Coram Deo team as a pastoral intern. His diverse skill set includes an aptitude for technology, a sharp theological mind, a discerning pastoral spirit, and a keen musical ear. Serving as an intern allows him to hone his spiritual gifts and explore a future in church planting.

Kendal's primary role within Coram Deo is to make stuff happen. He serves the pastoral team in diverse ways in order to accelerate the mission and develop his own strengths as a leader. In his spare time, Kendal is perfecting the art of brewing his own beer.

Justin Curtis
Church Planting Resident/Deacon

Not long ago, Justin was enjoying life as a teacher/athletic trainer in the Millard Public School district. Through the Coram Deo community, he and his wife Tracy came to know and love Jesus. And then two things began to happen: God began to give him a strong desire toward church planting, and the Coram Deo elders began to recognize and affirm his spiritual gifts as a leader and teacher. In the summer of 2008, Justin made a career change and became Coram Deo's first church planting resident. Like a medical residency, CD's church planting residency seeks to develop a well-qualified but inexperienced man into a seasoned and effective church planter through "on-the-job training." Through seminary coursework, practical ministry experience, and immersion in Coram Deo's gospel-centered context, Justin will be equipped to launch new churches that are biblically faithful and culturally relevant.

Justin and Tracy are both graduates of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In their spare time, they love exercise, the outdoors, and spending time with their daughter Nya. It may take Justin the rest of his life to exhaust his infinite athletic-trainer wardrobe of nylon pants and wind jackets.
