ABOUT CORAM DEO CHURCH
The Latin phrase Coram Deo means ‘in the presence of God.’ Our name reinforces our conviction that all of life has to do with God. We exist to help people live a God-centered life.
Our Mission
WE WORSHIP GOD.
Every human being is a worshiper. You have some “god” in your life. You’re living for the fame, the praise, the honor, the enjoyment of something. The gospel – the good news at the heart of the Christian faith – invites you to turn from the pursuit of lesser gods and worship the Lord Jesus Christ, who saves sinners through his life, death, and resurrection.
WE MAKE DISCIPLES.
To be a Christian is to be a disciple of Jesus (Acts 11:26) – a learner, a follower, an apprentice. Jesus commissioned his church to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). So this is the invitation we make: you should become a disciple of Jesus. You should submit to him and trust him and be his follower. The primary mission of the church is to lead people to faith in Jesus and to form them as disciples of Jesus.
WE PLANT CHURCHES.
As people become disciples of Jesus, new churches are birthed. Church planting refers to the active multiplication of new churches – and this is the primary mission strategy we see in the New Testament. We follow this biblical pattern by investing time, resources, and energy to launch, grow, and sustain new churches.
WE SPUR GOSPEL RENEWAL EVERYWHERE.
We believe deeply that the gospel brings refreshment and renewal. So we preach the gospel regularly to ourselves, we work to maintain a gospel culture within our church, and we help others discover the transforming power of the gospel through content, coaching, training, collaboration, and hospitality. We want you to know and experience the renewing grace of the gospel in your own life.
Values
GOD
We worship God who created everything, and who is glorious and good. “From Him and through Him and to Him are all things; to Him be the glory forever” (Romans 11:36).
GOSPEL
We are centered on the gospel: the good news that God saves sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This news changes us and keeps on changing us as we believe and apply it in all of life. “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God…” (Romans 1:16).
MISSION
We are caught up in God’s mission to renew the world through Jesus Christ. God calls people to turn from their old way of life, receive new life in Jesus, and join him on mission: “Go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19).
